Business cards represent your brand and people will get an impression about your business from the kind of business card you have. There are a few rules that you should follow when you are planning on printing business cards.

Take a look at the dos and don’ts of business card printing.

Dos

Here are a few things you should do when you are printing a business card.

  1. Keep Them Updated
  2. You should update your business cards regularly with the latest contact number, details, and other information. It will make the card presentable. A good business card etiquette is to update them from time to time. Make sure that you are not holding to a single set of business cards for too long. When your luxury business cards expire, you should get rid of them. This ensures that you are not getting confused between the new and old cards.

  3. Carry Your Business Card with You
  4. Don’t leave your office or home without putting a stack of business cards in your bag. A business opportunity can present itself at any time. The primary purpose of plastic business cards is to get businesses. There is no point leaving the business cards sitting around in the office. You should have a stack of cards in your wallet, card, office, briefcase, etc. You can store some cards in your wallet for emergencies. You don’t want to lose out on business opportunities and embarrass yourself because you don’t have a card to hand out.

  5. Hand Others Your Cards
  6. Your square business cards printed by the best business card maker are meant to generate business. Simply carrying them around is not going to help. You need to be ready and active to hand them out to people. In case you are waiting to meet someone, hand the receptionists your card so that they can announce your name and brand to the other party. If you are handing out a card to someone, make sure that the front side is up and the words are facing them.

Don’ts

Now, here are a few things you shouldn’t do when you are printing business cards.

  1. Write on Them
  2. Sure, there are exceptions to this rule. However, it is better to avoid writing on your business card. Don’t add information by hand simply because you are looking to save money. unless they are additional notes relevant to the customer, don’t write on them. You can write on someone else’s business cards but it has to be relevant and should interrupt with the meeting. Don’t strike out old addresses or phone numbers as it makes you look unprofessional.

  3. Start a Conversation with Them
  4. Don’t hand over your business card just off the bat. It is poor business card etiquette. Surely, you don’t want to relinquish your card too early or you might just come across as forwards and pushy. It is important that you wait until someone is asking you to provide it. In case not, you can hand it out after the right amount of time has passed. The other person is going to provide you with their card in return. If this happens, take some time to check both sides of the cards before putting them away.
