Bring your Room to Life..Cover boring walls with posters and calendars

As a college student, I know just how hard it can be to make your dorm room into a place that you and your friends actually want to be. Well, other than for nap time, of course.

Back when I was freshman, I remember that first day of orientation; meeting new people, realizing that I would have to study like crazy to make the grades I had in high school, and getting introduced to my brand new roommate. We hit it off pretty fast after realizing we had so many things in common, and by the time we unpacked our stuff we were jumping up and down, squealing like little girls, all excited for our first real night away from home and for school to start. But I also remember spending that first night awake in my bed, frowning at the white paint-peeled walls that surrounded our colorful bedspreads and just sucked the life out of the room.

It wasn’t long before my new friends and I decided that the best way to make our rooms feel nice ‘n homey would be to hide the horrible/awful/gross/disgusting paint job that covered the walls and replace it with something fun and eye-catching; didn’t really matter what it was as long as it wasn’t 99 cent white paint.

After being scolded several times by our RA for wanting and planning to repaint our room into something more lively, my roommate and I ended up hanging some things that kept us happy and didn’t make our eyes bleed.

We had colorful calendars, filled with images from waterfalls to cute little puppies, put on the back of our door for the school year. After that we had dozens of posters that we printed that consisted of our favorite artwork, the bands we listened to, motivational posters to get us through freshmen year, and photo collages of our friends and family. We even covered our mini fridge with magnets and hung Christmas lights.

Pretty soon, everyone was coming to our room to hang out, and my roommate and I felt right at home in that tiny dorm room.

So, for the upcoming college freshmen, prepare yourselves for a boring paint job and print posters of whatever makes you happy to cover your walls.

Support Your Football Team, Use Signs & Banners to Promote!!

Football Team in a Huddle

It’s high school football season yet again, and if your team is anything like mine . . . they’re gonna need all the support they can get.

No,  I’m not talking about hugs and pats on the back or “better luck next time” and cheering at game time because, when you’ve got all the fans in the stands yelling and screaming, the words just sort of blend together and the players will never know who cheered them on or what anyone said (unless a megaphone was involved, but I seriously doubt that). So how in the world are you supposed to let your boys know you’re there for them?

Signs and banners.

Yep, that’s the secret. No, seriously, it’s as simple as that. When I was in high school the posters for the football team’s upcoming games were all around the school – you could not escape them, they were around every corner. We even had a eight foot wide banner that hung above the snack bar at the field; all the fans had signed their names on it, and every game before the kick-off the coach would bring his team together and point to the banner. Of course, I have no idea what he said to go with the pointing, but it always got the boys riled up, so who cares?

I spoke to my friend who was on the high school football team for four years and he told me that he loved it when his family and friends held up signs from the bleachers with his jersey number and encouraging words. He never told his parents this, but he always played better when they were their holding up a sign for him.

However, the signs aren’t just for the supporters to use. It’s for the players too. I mean, who wouldn’t love having their own stuff to show off to the world? Can you think of something the players use to advertise their team? Go over to the nearest high school. Right now. I dare you.  And I guarantee that you will find that the majority of the student’s have car magnets supporting the school’s teams.

So before you head over to the next football game, show the players and the marchers that you’re there for them and bring a sign, put up a sign in your yard, use a car magnet, or create a banner for the school hallway; it’ll mean a lot to them. Promise. Go team!

However, if you want to make a major statement in a major way, then it is indeed the only way to go. We aren’t talking about 3ft by 10ft banners here (nothing against those). Why Should I Buy My Printing Locally?

As printing services have become essential marketing aids for the businesses, thus they are found in every locality. But there is a general misconception among the business owners that only the big names can yield them good results while the local printing services are made for frauds. This is not the truth. There might be some printing agencies in your locality which might deliver the same results as big named companies. When you measure the pros and cons of getting printing locally, the pros definitely outnumber the cons. There are two choices while making a selection of local printers. You can either opt for the physical printing services or search through the Internet to find best online printing services in your locality. Physical printers may be an attractive proposition for some as you will not have to wait on the printers schedule but it is a bit high costing if the number of documents to be printed is not low. Online printing services on the otherhand can provide full color prints of large volumes at cost effective rates. There are various paper size options available with the online printing service providers. Moreover, the online printers are specialized in printing of various types of promotional materials such as letterheads, brochures, posters, business cards, etc.

One of the basic issues surrounding the choice of local printers is that customers often feel they can get better deals online. Thus they look to reduce the printing costs by visiting a reputed online store offering a fair deal. But the reduced cost for online printers depends on the company you choose. If hard to believe prices are offered by a store, then you may be losing out on quality of the end product. As the local printers are based in your locality they will not provide you inferior quality prints. If you are not satisfied with their services you will not recommend them to anyone else and this might hamper their business growth. So the local printers are more careful about the services they offer to their customers. There are many other advantages of using the services of the local printers such as:

  • When the printers are placed in locality, you can visit the print press anytime you want to and check the proof and adjust the colors for your promotional materials. This saves you from the hassles of traveling or having to wait for extended periods to check your proof.
  • You can sit with the professionals employed at the local printers and plan the layout and design face to face.
  • You can check the quality of paper and make sure that it meets your expectations. Paper is an important aspect in getting flawless prints.

Though many online printing service providers will provide you significant discounts, but those will affect the quality of the prints. Though you might have to spend some extra bucks for getting local printing services but that will help your printing promotions significantly, as a print promotion solely depends on the quality of the paper and prints. You will not have to wait for the prints to arrive. When you take up the services of big named printing service provider there are chances that your work will be in the queue and thus will take some time to be delivered. In terms of the local printers you can expect personalized handling of your orders. If you are looking for a local printer in Santa Clara, California then PrintPapa is the best option you can opt for. They have wide experience in printing promotional materials such as envelopes, doorhanger, poster, rackcards, greeting cards, etc.

Remember Past Years with Photobooks

“The years teach much which the days never know”- definitely each year is like a chapter in the book of life. As soon as a year is over there are so many retrospectives released mostly based on the life of sports and entertainment stars. But what about reviewing your own year! You can do the same with the help of the pictures that you have taken all round the year. The photobooks lets you select some of the best pictures and create a memorabilia of sorts for yourself. Often there are so many remarkable events in a year and these memories get lost with time. But if you have preserved the pictures in your photobook then you can relish the memories later on.

One of the obstacles faced by the people while creating their yearly photobook is how to select the pictures? So below are some of the tips that will help you in your quest:

  • Noteworthy Events: Try and remember the noteworthy things that happened in the bygone year. Life changing events are a good way to start the selection of pictures. There are events that you have been witness to such as – showers, weddings, moves, deaths, graduations, birthdays and holidays.
  • Create Archive Folder: Create an archive folder in your PC by the year and dump all the pictures in it. You can randomly put all the pictures taken all through the year in this folder.
  • Rethink The Ideas: Once you review the folder many new ideas will come into your mind. You might come across a musical event that you had attended and would want to dedicate a page in the photobook for that. Your home might have undergone major renovations to your home in the last year and you would want to give photos of the new looking house in the photobook. You might also want to include some of the short trips that you took during the year.
  • Collage of Pictures: At times there might be some pictures you would like to include, but these do not require an entire page. A few pictures from a baby showers celebration, some others from of the family gatherings or may be some other old friends’ meeting can be included in the photobook. You can create a collage of all these special pictures and use them in a page of your photobook.
  • Get Photos From Others: At times you might have been at a special event but could not capture the frames as you were not carrying a camera. In such situations you may find some of your friends or family members have taken the snaps. Nowadays people share the photos on the Internet. So get those photos from them and use in photobook.

After you are done with these steps you will have all the photos in hand to create the yearly photobook of your own. You will need a trusted printing agency to give a great output to your photobook. Print Papa is one of the most renowned printing service providers around and they deal with various types of photo products. There are products such as photo greetings cards, posters and banners, calendar, etc.

Tips to Make Advertising Poster Better

Advertisement posters are one of the best marketing tools if you can place them well and attract the attention of the people. However a lot depends on the attractiveness of the poster to promote what it is meant to. A good poster is able to arouse interest in the mind of the viewer which can translate into business. Here are a few tips that you should keep in mind to make your advertisement poster better:

  • Keep It Simple – The best of the posters are the simple ones. You need to make sure that your poster is not over crowded with text and images. Such posters do not promote but rather confuse the viewer. A poster is on an average viewed for 5 to 10 seconds and it is important that you can convey your simple message within this time.
  • Write An Impressive Slogan – Nothing sells better in an advertising poster than an impressive slogan. Try to grab attention of the reader at one go with your slogan. You can also use some famous quote if it helps to market your product or service. The slogan should be printed in bold to fall in the eyes of the viewer immediately.
  • Add Gloss And Shine – A glossy poster always attracts attention. Ask your printer to add a glossy coating to the poster after printing, this will make it shine. A gloss coating will also prevent the poster from accumulating dirt and losing its color easily.
  • Add Gradient – Adding a gradient to the background fills it. Also adding a gradient instead of a single color makes the poster design a little bit more interesting and professional. A gradient also adds texture to the background and makes it look much better than a single color or white background.
  • Use High Resolution Images – The images in your poster should be in high resolution. Pixelated images bring in a very unprofessional look to your posters and you should avoid them. If you are using multiple images for your poster make sure they blend well with each other in terms of color and brightness.

A good advertising poster will need to be printed well and you will need to hire the services of a professional printer like PrintPapa for this job. They are equipped with the latest printing equipments and have a well trained staff with them. They have expertise in printing brochures, labels, notepads, rack cards, letterheads, greeting cards, calendars etc. They have earned a good reputation from their clients having delivered high quality work on time.

Do you see wastage of electricity in your workplace, educational institution or some public place that you visit regularly. Wastage of electricity through lights, computers and air conditioners when no one is using them is common in today’s world. • Use facts and figures to raise awareness among people about energy saving. Many people aren’t even aware of how much electricity that they can save if they make some serious attempts to do so.

  • Highlight the ill effects of electricity wastage like dwindling coal and petroleum resources which will run out of stock in the near future.
